Version 1.6.0 is out, and it brings two fixes that make the extension smoother to use every day. Neither is a flashy new feature, but both come straight from problems people run into all the time.

Filenames in every language

For a long time, the extension had a weak spot. If a file had a name written in a non Latin script, like Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean, the name often came out broken. You would see boxes, question marks, or a jumble of symbols instead of the real title. The file itself downloaded fine, but you could not tell what it was without opening it.

That gets old fast, especially if you work with documents from suppliers or clients abroad. A folder full of unreadable names defeats the point of downloading in bulk.

Version 1.6.0 handles this properly. Filenames with non Latin characters now show up correctly in the list before you download, and they save with the right names too. So whether your files are in Mandarin, Arabic, or anything else, they arrive readable and ready to sort.

No more silent missing files

The second fix is one I care about a lot. When you download a batch of files into a ZIP, sometimes one file fails. Maybe a link is dead, maybe the server times out. In the past, a single failure could stop the whole process, and you were left wondering what went wrong and which files you actually got.

Now the extension keeps going. If one file cannot be downloaded, it skips that file and finishes the rest of the batch. Even better, it adds a small document inside your ZIP that lists every file it could not get, along with the reason each one failed.

So when you open your folder, there are no surprises. You can see exactly what came through and what did not, without comparing lists by hand or guessing why something is missing. For anyone gathering records they need to be complete, that peace of mind is worth a lot.
