What Is New in Download All Files 1.5.0
I’m happy to announce the release of Download All Files version 1.5.0. This is the biggest update the extension has received so far, and it lays the groundwork for everything we want to build next. A lot of work in this release happened under the hood, but it directly improves reliability, usability, and future extensibility.

Completely Reworked Download Engine
The core download engine has been fully rewritten. Downloads are now processed in the background instead of being tied to the extension popup. This means your downloads will no longer stop or break when the popup is closed.
We had reached the limits of the previous architecture. To move forward with new features, the internal flow had to be redesigned and several modules rewritten. While this was time consuming, it unlocked new capabilities such as accurate progress tracking and helped eliminate several long standing bugs.

New “Stop All” Button
A new Stop All button has been added to the interface. This is especially useful when too many files are queued by mistake or when you simply want to cancel everything quickly. One click immediately stops all scheduled downloads, without needing to manage them individually.

Download File Progress in UI
You can now see the progress of each file directly inside the extension window. There is no longer a need to open the browser’s download manager just to check status. All relevant information is now centralized, making it easier to monitor large download batches at a glance.
ZIP Downloads
Version 1.5.0 introduces downloading files as a ZIP archive. Implementing ZIP downloads in a browser extension turned out to be far more complex than expected due to ecosystem limitations. After extensive work, the feature is finally ready.
To ensure stability and performance, ZIP downloads currently support smaller files under 10MB each, with a total archive size limit of 40MB. These limits allow the feature to remain fast and reliable within current extension ecosystem technical limitations.

Early Adopter badge for Existing Users
As a thank you to everyone who has been using this extension, all existing users automatically receive the Early Adopter badge for free. This badge allows for unlimited downloads, so you can continue using the extension exactly as before, with no changes or restrictions.
Improved Firefox Compatibility
Several Firefox specific issues have also been fixed in this release. These were mostly smaller bugs, but together they improve overall stability and polish on Firefox. The result is a smoother, more reliable experience.
That covers the main updates in version 1.5.0. I hope you enjoy the changes and find the extension even more useful. If you have feedback or ideas for improvement, feel free to share them.
